Prof. Leszek Roszkowski, Head of Astrocent, has recently been elected Deputy Chair of the General Assembly of APPEC that he will lead together with the new Chair — Prof. Carlos Peña Garay (Laboratorio Subterráneo Canfran, Spain), and the other Deputy Chair — Prof. Antoine Kouchner (Astroparticle and Cosmology Laboratory, France).
The Astroparticle Physics European Consortium (APPEC) is a collaborative organization that brings together funding agencies, institutes, and laboratories from across Europe to coordinate and promote astroparticle physics research. APPEC plays a critical role in defining strategic priorities, fostering international collaboration, and supporting cutting-edge projects in the field.
The APPEC General Assembly serves as its strategic, decision-making, and supervisory body. Its members include directors of major astroparticle physics institutes, programme managers, and representatives of leading scientific agencies.
The election is a sign of high recognition of Prof. Roszkowski’s position and also of the growing importance of Astrocent in the international astroparticle physics community. Congratulations!
