Group leader: Prof. Masayuki Wada
Dr. Wada has extensive experience in designing DM detectors utilizing liquid argon technology. The infrastructure being developed in our CEZAMAT laboratory, including the cryogenic system and electronics, will be key. Wada applies knowledge from fundamental sciences to address broader societal issues, particularly in healthcare.
It is worth highlighting that at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, he played a crucial role in developing the Milano Ventilator (MVM), a low-cost, mass-produced mechanical ventilator that effectively addressed the global shortage. Once MVM entered mass production, Wada collaborated with medical device engineers and companies such as Vexos and Elemaster, which initiated production in North America and Europe. These contacts will prove valuable as 3Dπ progresses to subsequent stages of development.
