APPEC General Assembly in Warsaw

On the 28-29th of June 2023, in Warsaw, the General Assembly of APPEC (Astroparticle Physics European Consortium) convened its third meeting of the year, The event was hosted by AstroCeNT.  Professor Leszek Roszkowski, Head of AstroCeNT at NCAC PAS is the Polish representative in the General Assembly.
APPEC, consisting of funding agencies, government institutions, and research centers from 22 European countries, serves as the coordinating body for astroparticle physics research efforts at the national level. The General Assembly brings together agency heads from across Europe, as well as observers from international organizations like CERN, ESO, Astronet, EPS-HEPP, NuPECC, and ECFA, to discuss and align the European strategy for astroparticle physics.
This time the agenda covered several critical topics, including global gravitational wave activities, ASTRONET’s roadmap and ACME, the landscape of astroparticle physics in Poland, the Copernican Academy, updates from the Polish Ministry of Education and Science and the German Center for Astrophysics (DZA) in Lusatia.

Additionally, there were sessions on EuCAPT, strategic development of European underground laboratories led by INFN LNGS and Laboratorio Subterraneo de Canfranc, and a report by the General Secretary, Katharina Henjes-Kunst.
The intense and productive discussions during the assembly aimed to shape the future of astroparticle physics research in Europe. By fostering collaboration, exchanging knowledge, and collectively addressing challenges, APPEC and its member institutions continue to drive advancements in this exciting field of science.
