On April 22-27 our PhD student Clea Sunny travelled to Vienna, Austria to attend the “VIEnna Workshop on Simulations 2024″ (VIEWS24). The goal of VIEWS24 was to provide an overview of the current state and challenges of low-energy particle background simulations using Geant4 for rare event searches.
Clea took part in a three-and-a-half-day Geant4 beginners’ course and a workshop with an open exchange of experiences among all participants regarding Geant4 simulations in their research careers. She also presented her research updates on “The effect of contamination on the S1 triplet component in the DarkSide-50 dark matter experiment” along with preliminary results.
