Scientific travel to Laboratori Nazionali del Sud, INFN
In pursuit of scientific advancement and collaborative research, AstroCeNT team members (two PhD students, Paules Zakhary and Iftikhar Ahmad, and Dr. Masato Kimura) visited INFN (Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare) – Laboratori Nazionali del Sud, a renowned research center at the forefront of nuclear physics research and our collaborator in DarkWave project.
The goal of the travel was to participate in the ReD experiment at LNS. Our team tests the on-demand production of Ar37 radioactive isotope, which is planned by AstroCeNT group, using the detector of the ReD. The Ar37 calibration will play an important role in low-energy calibration of liquid argon detectors.
The time spent by the team in Catania was not limited to scientific studies. It also provided an invaluable opportunity for cultural exchange and networking. Engaging with fellow researchers at INFN and participating in scientific discussions has facilitated collaboration and the exchange of ideas, strengthening links between the AstroCeNT group and the international scientific community.
This scientific journey was made possible by the funding of the DarkWave project.
