AstroCeNT invites ambitious students to apply for funded internships to take part in our research activities.
AstroCeNT’s two main physics themes are dark matter and gravitational waves, which provide avenues to study the most important questions in physics. In the context of dark matter, we offer internship projects ranging from particle physics theory, experimental data analysis and simulation, development of novel dark matter detectors based on modern technologies, through exploring other applications of such technologies, for example in medical physics. We also develop arrays of sensitive seismometers to assist large interferometric detectors of gravitational waves. Additionally, modern classical and quantum machine learning methods are studied and being applied in the aforementioned areas.
If you are a level 2 or PhD student interested in applying for an internship project please contact AstroCeNT at internships@astrocent.pl and briefly tell us (in English):
- who you are,
- what areas of research interest you the most,
- why do you want to do your internship at AstroCeNT.
Typical duration of the internship is three months but other options (ranging from one month up to even twelve months) may be considered, depending on the project and applicant.
Successful candidates will receive a studentship of between 1500 and 2500 PLN per month.
Application deadline is 18 July 2020.
