We are happy to announce that a member of our team, Piotr Kalaczyński, has just defended his doctoral thesis titled: “The Measurement and Modelling of Cosmic Ray Muons at KM3NeT Detectors”. The thesis was defended at the National Centre for Nuclear Research under the supervision of prof. Ewa Rondio (Main Supervisor) and Dr. Piotr Mijakowski (Auxiliary Supervisor).
Piotr has been working at AstroCeNT as a technician since May 2023. Collaborating with research groups 1 and 5, he developed data analysis and background mitigation software tools for the DEAP-3600 project. During his PhD, he also completed two NCN grants, including Preludium, of which he was the principal investigator.
