PhD student’s scientific travel to Zurich and Munich

On April 11 our PhD student Sarthak Choudhary (SiPM Systems for Astroparticle Physics and Medical Physics group, led by Prof. Marcin Kuźniak) left for about 1.5 months for a scientific visit to the University of Zurich and the Technical University of Munich to take part in measurement of wavelength shifting properties of polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) with experimental setups available at both universities.

As part of his doctoral research, Sartak Choudhary is studying the optical properties of wavelength shifters and SiPM detectors to be used in dark matter detectors. Collaboration with groups in Zurich and Munich, participation in the mentioned experiments will greatly contribute to his research work at NCAC/AstroCeNT of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Sarthak’s travels to Switzerland and Germany were funded by the DarkWave project.
