LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration meeting in Illinois
On the 13-16th of March Prof. Bulik and Dr Suchenek paid scientific visit to the Northwestern University’s Center for the Interdisciplinary Exploration and Research in Astrophysics – CIERA (USA, Illinois) to take part in LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA collaboration meeting. As part of the event, presentations on the Newtonian noise reduction system in VIRGO were given.
Our colleagues also participated in discussions on increasing the sensitivity of the VIRGO and LIGO detectors and hardware modifications of the detector. They visited the laboratories at Ewanston working on gravitational wave detectors and participated in working meetings related to the construction of the ET (Einstein Telescope) and the Cosmic Explorer where they discussed the possible contribution of AstroCeNT in these projects.
The travel was funded from DarkWave under work package 5 (Scale-up and synergies).
