On 2 October 2019 AstroCeNT will host a meeting between experts in the field of machine learning. The goal of the of the meeting is to establish a scientific collaboration aiming at finding new methods and applications of machine learning for tele-detection and understanding of images obtained using Earth observation imagery methods. Both classical and quantum machine learning approaches will be discussed. The meeting is organized by Dr Piotr Gawron, professor at Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences. List of participants includes:
- Dr Przemysław Głomb, adjunct at Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences
- Bartosz Grabowski, Diamond Grant Fellow at the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences, student at Faculty of Applied Mathematics of Silesian University of Technology
- Dr Stanisław Lewiński, Head of Earth Observation Department of Space Research Centre, Polish Academy of Sciences
The discussants bring together an exciting variety of skills. Dr Gawron is an expert in quantum computation, Dr Głomb specializes in hyper- and multi-spectral image processing, Bartosz Grabowski studies applications of deep neural networks for hyper- and multi-spectral image processing, and Dr Lewiński is an expert in Earth observation data analysis. We hope that this meeting will establish new, fruitful research relationships leading to development of a variety of new Earth observation data processing methods.
