Cosmology 2023 in Miramare

From 27 August to 2 September 2023, Dr. Rafał Wojaczyński travelled to Trieste, Italy, to participate in the ‘Cosmology 2023 in Miramare’ conference. This scientific event oganized by Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi Avanzati (SISSA) serves as a platform for researchers from various fields, including observational, computer simulation, and theoretical cosmology, astrophysics, and astroparticle physics and aims to discuss the current state of research in these areas, as well as future prospects for advancement. Topics covered included the Cosmological Model, Dark Matter, the Evolving Universe, Probes of the Universe, Multimessenger Cosmology, Black Holes, and Astrophysical aspects of Cosmology.
The conference brought together leading scientists who delivered invited talks, along with contributions from participating researchers. This collaborative environment fostered discussions, debates, and the exchange of ideas critical for pushing the boundaries of our understanding of the cosmos.
Dr. Wojaczyński presented an oral talk titled ‘DarkSide-20k and the progress of Liquid Argon Dark Matter Program.’ This presentation highlighted the activities of the DarkSide scientific collaboration, providing insights into the principles of their dark matter search program, the ongoing construction of the DarkSide-20k detector, and advancements in research and development technologies related to the detection of Weakly Interacting Massive Particles (WIMPs).
Aside from the presentation, Dr. Wojaczyński had the opportunity to meet with fellow scientists engaged in dark matter research experiment. This collaboration and interaction among scientists working on different dark matter search experiments contribute to the collective effort to unravel the mysteries of the universe.
This travel was funded from DarkWave project.
