Astrocent Researchers Participated in LIDINE 2024 Conference in São Paulo, Brazil

Prof. Marcin Kuźniak and PhD student Sarthak Choudhary recently represented Astrocent at the LIDINE 2024 conference, held on the August 26-28 in São Paulo, Brazil. Hosted by the Principia Institute and supported by UNICAMP, UTFPR, UNIFAL, CTI, ITA, and CBPF, this year’s conference brought together leading experts in particle and nuclear physics.

AstroCeNT members presented their research on dark matter detection.

LIDINE 2024 provided a vibrant platform for discussing advancements in detector techniques, signal processing, and their wide-ranging applications. The event featured several key tracks, including:

  • Light/charge response in Noble Elements (gas, liquid, dual phase)
  • Light/charge readout (PMTs, SiPM, WLS, electronics, etc.)
  • Detector techniques (HV, cryogenics, purification, calibration, etc.)
  • Signal reconstruction and identification (analysis methods, simulations)
  • Applications (dark matter, neutrino, precision frontier, medicine, etc.)

This year’s event also evoked memories of LIDINE 2022, organized by AstroCeNT/NCAC during the DarkWave project implementation. During that conference, we had the pleasure of welcoming the global scientific community to our institution in Warsaw. The highlights and vibrant spirit of LIDINE 2022 were captured in a promotional video, which we invite you to re-watch.
