15–17 October 2025, Leszek Roszkowski, Director of Astrocent, and Marta Borowiec, Project Manager, represented Astrocent at the 4th Teaming Club Conference, held at BIOPOLIS-CIBIO in Vairão, Portugal.
The annual Teaming Club Conference is one of the most important gatherings for all European Centres of Excellence created under the Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe “Teaming for Excellence” programmes. It provides a platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration among nearly 50 Teaming projects across Europe.
This year’s theme — “Delivering effective strategies for long-term sustainability” — focused on the central challenge faced by Teaming Centres: ensuring continued growth and impact beyond EU funding. The conference brought together representatives from Teaming projects across diverse disciplines, alongside key officials from the European Commission (REA) and national governments, including the Portuguese Minister for Education, Science and Innovation.
Over three days, participants engaged in plenary discussions, thematic sessions, and networking opportunities covering topics such as:
- Building and sustaining research infrastructure
- Attracting and retaining international talent
- Fostering innovation and cooperation with industry
- Enhancing synergies with European and national programmes
The event also highlighted successful practices in sustainability and innovation strategies, setting the direction for future collaboration within the Teaming community.
Astrocent’s participation strengthened its links with other Centres of Excellence and contributed to the shared dialogue on how to build resilient, impactful research ecosystems across Europe.
