On 10 May 2025 the Polish Radio & Copernicus Science Centre held the 28th edition of Europe’s largest outdoor science fair — the Science Picnic — inside Warsaw’s PGE Narodowy stadium. This year’s theme, “Ale Kosmos!” (“What a Universe!”), invited visitors to look far beyond our familiar 5 % of atomic matter and to grapple with questions of dark matter, dark energy, extraterrestrial life and the future of space exploration.
Astrocent contributed a hands-on stand staffed by Azam Zabihi and Marta Borowiec. Azam used NASA’s kid-friendly models to show what dark matter is — and why it makes up 95 % of the Universe we can’t see. Marta joined Azam on the stand and helped the CAMK PAN team guide guests through hands-on cosmic activities.

The picnic drew more than 50 000 participants and featured topics ranging from planetary defence and AI in the space industry to low-water food production for long-duration missions. Astrocent is proud to support this national celebration of curiosity and looks forward to inspiring even more future scientists at next year’s event.
