Quantum Metrology, Quantum Communication, Quantum Control, Quantum Information, Quantum Machine Learning

Biography

Dr Manish Kumar Gupta has obtained his Ph.D. in 2016 from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA. His doctoral advisor was Dr. Jonathan P. Dowling.

During his Ph.D. dr Manish worked on Quantum Communication, Quantum Information, and Quantum Metrology where he showed that qubit coherence can be preserved in optical fiber for long-distance quantum communication using dynamical decoupling quantum control. The title of his thesis was “Minimizing Decoherence in Optical Fiber for Long-Distance Quantum Communication”. During his Ph.D. he also worked on quantum metrology and quantum information.

In 2017, Manish Gupta joined Harish-Chandra Research Institute, India as a postdoctoral fellow and worked on quantum privacy and causal order.

In 2018, he was awarded the “Outstanding Reviewer Award” by the New Journal of Physics IOPscience.

Dr Manish Kumar Gupta joined AstroCeNT in 2020. Currently he works on Quantum Machine Learning with dr Piotr Gawron and collaborates with dr Marcin Kuźniak on the DEAP-3600 project to develop Monte Carlo simulation for the research. He has a varied research interest ranging from the field of Electrical engineering to key topics in basic science and more specifically the topics in Quantum Optics and Quantum Computing. His research objective is to work on the foundations of quantum optics and connect those to fruitful engineering applications.
