Vladyslav Yankovskyi

Biography:

Vladyslav Yankovskyi during his bachelor’s thesis has developed a statistical method for high-precision reconstruction of the 3D coordinates of ²⁰⁷Bi calibration sources in the SuperNEMO demonstrator using tracks of electrons. He has implemented algorithms for analyzing cross-sectional ellipses and determining spatial coordinates, performed a full analysis of real detector data, and achieved millimeter-level accuracy, providing improvements for detector geometry, calibration, and further simulation.

In his master’s thesis, he has developed the Generic Vertex Finder algorithm for detecting displaced vertices in the HLT1 trigger of the LHCb experiment. He has implemented key stages of vertex reconstruction, integrated the algorithm into the Allen GPU framework, validated its performance against existing methods, and demonstrated its potential to enhance sensitivity to long-lived particles in future LHCb runs.

Vladyslav worked on developing trigger lines for selecting events with multiple muon–antimuon and lambda–antilambda pairs for HLT1 trigger for LHCb at CERN as part of an AUF Paris–SaclayLaboratoire internship (2023), and participated in the IRIS-HEP Fellows Programs (2024–2025), advancing the project that evolved into his master’s.

Additionally, he gained experience as a medical physicist at the Shalimov National Institute of Surgery and Transplantology, where he supported radiation therapy workflows on the Elekta Versa HD accelerator, created and verified VMAT treatment plans in MONACO, performed daily quality assurance, conducted dosimetric measurements, and worked with the administration system MOSAIQ, CT imaging systems XVI and iView.
